• Foreign nationals in transit to a country outside the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and the Irish Republic must have a visa for the country of onward destination (if necessary)
  
  
• A short term multiple ‘Visitor in Transit' Visa may be issued if you wish to transit the United Kingdom several times within a six month period, provided that both the passport and visa for the country of destination remain valid beyond the expiry of the ‘Visitor in Transit' Visa
  
  
• If there is a likelihood that the person in transit may, on one of the journeys, wish to remain longer than 48 hours and also qualifies for a Multiple Visits Visa, he/she may be provided with a Multiple Visits Visa
